Solitude

Solitude is a good thing, right? I have had a lot of it lately..sometimes I think a little too much. I'm recently unemployed so I have ALL day by myself. Part of me dreads Mondays because the kids go back to school & my husband back to work and it's just me..again. I know most people would love that and sometimes I do, but at times I think it's just too much alone time.

I'm trying to take advantage of all this time and do some projects that I've been wanting to do. After all, I'm in a new house and there are still changes we want to make and now I have plenty of time to do them. The first week I was home, I started cleaning behind furniture and in all those little nooks and crannies that are unseen. By the end of the day, I moved my entire dining room into what was the living room and all of the living room (minus the couch because it wouldn't fit thru the doorway without turning it sideways) was moved into the old dining room...it all seemed like a great idea at the time, but I wasn't sure it was going to last. But, we all actually really like it that way and we've decided to keep it like that. So, you just never know what I'm going to do when left to my own devices ;-)

All of this alone time is making me run more often & further distances..I figure, why not? It's not like I don't have the time. I even started to lose a few pounds so now I'm watching my diet and I've lost 6 pounds! So, I guess that's all good, too.

I'm running more and more by myself which is how I started out so many years ago. It was only over the last few years that I started running with other people and eventually I got to the point where it was hard to go out for a run by myself..I just couldn't get motivated. It's funny how we go through these seasons of life and it really effects all areas..now I'm back to running on my own again (more solitude) so I'm learning to enjoy that as much as I can.

Now that it's finally starting to feel like spring (it has rained a lot!) I'm getting out whenever it's not raining. I did 6.5 yesterday and I did the Galloway method 9 mins running, 1 min walking. It didn't add that much to my overall time..a few minutes but that's okay. It's supposed to be nice out again today so I should take advantage of the nice weather. Me, myself & I will be out running..hope you are, too :)
